In past years, we’ve attended SDCC as overwhelmed spectators, party guests, line-standers-being-told-to-move-along, and sometimes even people-watching-a-booth-while-their-owners-run-to-the-bathroom.
And those have all been dreams come true.
Well, sometimes life is crazy. This year, thanks to some targeted asks, friends looking out for us, and fortuitous timing —not to mention having three books come out in three months — our schedule got packed very quickly. We found ourselves hustling from event to event pretty much all day every day we were there.
We were also invited to do a signing of the Parallax series for an hour, behind an actual official SDCC BOOTH which was truly a bucket-list item.
Many friends stopped by to show support, and we even signed a decent number of books. Surprisingly, many people, despite this being their first time ever hearing of Parallax, chose to purchase the entire trilogy! Maybe Amazon reviews were encouraging. Or maybe they just like to binge-read. Either way, we felt very loved and supported, and pretty good about our (Aethon’s) cover art.
Shout-outs to Jessica Tseang and Jessica Brawner for hooking this event up! You are both the best.
